There is a protest this Friday in Redmond, OR at the town hall. Their message is, “It’s time to get Central Oregon Back To Work.”
According to the arranger, “Our governments are failing the people and it is time to remind the elected who is actually in charge.”

The Flier Reads:
“TOWN HALL MEETING IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THIS MEETING BEING LAWFUL Article 1 section 26 of the Oregon Constitution reads No law shall be passed restraining any of the inhabitants of the State from assembling together in a peaceable manner to consult for their common good; nor frorn instructing their representatives; nor from applying to the legislature for redress of grievances. Friday April 17th, 2020 5:30PM On the steps of Redmond City Hall 411 SW 9th Street Redmond, Oregon 97756 IT IS TIME TO GET CENTRAL OREGON BACK TO WORK! OUR GOVERNMENTS ARE FAILING THE PEOPLE AND IT IS TIME TO REMIND THE ELECTED WHO IS ACTUALLY IN CHARGE. Our Comrnunity is hurting. The government we have elected to preserve our liberty and protect our rights is failing. It is clear that it is up to Us to right our own ship. This meeting will be an open forum for our community members to speak their minds about the struggles they face. and a place to discuss, plan and organize how we get our community back runMng again. It is time to open Central Oregon back up for business with or without our hired servants help. Please come hear and talk with your neighbors to discuss how we take a positive step forward and get our community back to work.”
There are hundreds of reports that the virus has subsided and President Trump is thinking of re-opening America back on May 1st. He said it was one of the biggest decisions of his life. While people protest against opening up the country, many small businesses see things differently.
Storefront shops, salons, restaurants and the like have suffered through the wake of being shut down for nearly a month and the stimulus has only helped “some”. Perhaps this protest will truly help the small business owners get back on track during these hard times.
